Maria has a very sad story to tell. Having grown up in a foster home, she is yet to feel the love and affection that only family members could afford to give. As such, she grew up wanting in love and attention. When Maria was five, a couple adopted her. Maria was very happy because she thought it was her chance to feel the love she has never felt before. Unfortunately, Maria was wrong. Her adoptive parents did not treat her like a member of the family. Instead, she was asked to work day and night. She was not only battered physically but also verbally abused. When she's had enough, Maria ran away. She worked as a food server in a Leicester catering company. As a result of everything that she's been through, Maria learned to be tough. She did not trust anyone but herself. She did not have friends. She did not want to rely on anyone else for fear that she might just get hurt in the end. For now, Maria is content being alone. |

Evie told me that their department (Hotel And Restaurant Management Department) will have its very first published magazine next month. The department head has already picked out the editorial staff and even though she was not part of the chosen staff she was asked by the department head herself to submit an article for the magazine&rsquos first edition. Evie said that she plans to write insider tips on how to become a successful outside caterer in the city&rsquos very competitive market. After she presented her plan to the department head she was rather impressed with her idea and wishes her success on the paper. Evie was informed that the deadline of the articles is next week and that gives her ample time to conduct her research and interviews and come up with a well researched and well written article. I can tell from the way Evie talks that she is very excited and quite porud of herself for having been asked to contribute an article. This must mean that the department hear thinks highly of her capabilities. |
